沒有華麗炫目的外型,也沒有充滿科幻氣息的車艙,但卻會讓每個愛開車的人愛上它,它就是Subaru BRZ。在發表之前各界都在猜測甚至期望新世代BRZ可以搭載渦輪引擎,但是發表後仍維持自然進氣系統,不過排氣量有提升至2.4升,連帶的動力輸出也提升至234hp最大馬力,扭力峰值也有25.5kgm,0~100km/h加速自排車型為6.9秒。

以現今多數都是渦輪系統甚至朝電動發展的時代,BRZ的動力規格縱使較以往有所提升,但整體仍不屬亮眼規格,不過這只是帳面數據,實際駕馭則完全不是這一回事。
25.5kgm扭力不僅較以往提升15%,峰值也提前至3,700rpm就開始湧現,因此不需等待或刻意重踩即能感受到有感且帶勁的力道驅動,與以往相比也擁有更飽滿的加速感,若進一步對油門施壓,一股更加強勁的能量便隨即併發,接著就能感受到明顯的貼背感襲擊而來。方才只是 Normal模式,若在Sport模式下強上數倍的能量、力道不斷持續湧現,更積極的轉速攀升速度,和延後升檔搭配不斷放大的排氣聲浪,雖然只是自然進氣線性輸出特性,但所給予的回饋卻讓加速過程一直處於亢奮狀態。

全新世代BRZ採用FR Platform平台,並導入過去開發SGP模組化底盤的經驗,及於引擎蓋、葉子板、車頂等處採用鋁合金材質,雖然車重較前代有所增加,但卻帶來前側抗彎曲剛性提升近60%、車側抗扭曲剛性提升50%等更出色的剛性表現及 53:47前後配重,在此助益下可感受於彎中有著更穩定紮實的回饋。
鮮明高亢的聲浪和接近地面的乘坐重心,在此氛圍下怎可能會有慢慢開的念頭,動力的提升面對上坡路段,僅需稍加深一點油門即有充足的力道驅動車輛向上奔馳,入彎前踩煞車轉方向盤,在18吋Michelin PS4輪胎輔助下輕鬆穩定通過。有開過BRZ的就知道它不是一輛安分的車,接近出彎點才稍微深踩試圖加快出彎節奏,立即就能感受到車尾想掙脫束縛小幅滑動,但循跡系統很快的立馬介入。如果覺得不夠過癮,BRZ也提供Track賽道模式延遲循跡介入時機,此模式下只需加快入彎速度即能獲得車尾滑動的樂趣,由於試駕當天天雨路滑加上輪胎狀況等不允許進一步將循跡全關,不然以BRZ特性絕對可以輕易上演飄移精彩好戲。

不僅要在山路表現精彩身手,開在路上也得吸引目光,新世代BRZ 4,265mmx1,775mmx1,310mm尺碼與軸距2,575mm與以往相比並無明顯成長,但在外觀造型卻有大幅轉變。新BRZ沒有銳力鮮明的折線,反是運用更圓融成熟的設計手法,搭配長車頭短車尾低重心設計,及線條勾勒與整合尾門的尾翼和雙邊單出排氣管,進一步傳達強化跑格視覺感受。

為了讓駕駛專注於操控享受駕馭樂趣,因此BRZ座艙並沒有華麗科幻的鋪陳,但還是有配備符合時代與消費者所需的7吋數位儀表與支援Apple CarPlay/Android Auto的8吋多媒體中控系統。除此之外於安全部分也配備EyeSight 3.0(ACC主動車距控制定速、LSW車道偏擺警示、LDW車道偏離警示、PCB預防碰撞自動煞車、LVSA前車駛離警示、PCTM預防碰撞油門控制),及BSD盲點偵測、LCA車道變換輔助、SRVD 後方車輛偵測警示、RCTA後方車側交通警示與RAB倒車自動煞車等多項系統。

新世代BRZ雖沒有渦輪系統加持給予高性能,也沒有華麗科技配備與Level 2半自動駕駛,但卻有飽足且有感的能量輸出反應、低重心、 53:47前後配重、靈活充滿樂趣挑戰性的操控等特性,而且還有手排車型可選,這些對於愛開車的人來說就已足夠。
